Because of the sharpness of the edges and lack of details specific to impact craters (terrain displacement, debris), we can exclude the possibility of this feature being created by an asteroid/meteor. Considering its location near the Tharsis Montes, a most plausible explanation could be the collapse of a segment of Martian lava tubes.
However, it still stands out as one of the most interesting/notable anomalies presented on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSqN11YULOs) for its particular symmetry, easily leading to suspicion of being not natural, something that rarely happens with good detail resolution images analysed by enthusiasts communities.
NASA, ESA and other space agencies do not expect to find surprising things only on Mars, but from anywhere they can reach. We live in a time of new space conquests, with much potential of finding unforeseen things. The possibility of finding other civilisations does not absolutely mean meeting other biological beings (looking more or less like us), it could more probably consist in discovering traces of their steps.
This intriguing image below from Gusev crater is of an object which is extremely similar to a spine. It was discovered by Mars Anomalies member, convex:
