The Nefertiti anomaly (discovered by John Levasseur) had always fascinated me. I have tried, apart from the other project works, to review it and do some reconstruction attempts.
The crossfade with the depiction of the bust of Nefertiti and the Mars Image shows some similarities but also a some differences. The crown shows in the comparison differences in width. However the eye, nose and the mouth are remarkably well positioned. They make sense - considering the the esthetic/anatomical aspect.
As part of an experiment I gave the original image a friend of mine and and asked her to highlight the outlines of what she thinks she could see. Strictly speaking, this approach is like a guide for conducting intentionally a pareidolia effect. But she was not biased. She did not knew what kind of image this was and she did not knew, that it was an image of the Mars surface. I just gave her the corresponding section of the image to see what she will make of it.
This is the result of her work:
As expected, she has drawn just what most of us can see. Of course she knows the famous bust of Nefertiti. The image of this figure has certainly everyone saw here somewhere/sometime. It is a known exhibition piece of the Pergamon Museum in Berlin. But that could be only a distant memory. So, it is interesting to see her interpretation of the crown. (I can not exclude the possibility that she may subconsciously knew more about Nefertiti, than she possibly is aware.)
However, she did something that none of us really noticed before. She has drawn an arc of light rays which shines down to the figure. That is amazing and her impression could actually be right. The original image shows several lighter lines with apparently relatively regular spacing.
I was looking for other examples of images of Nefertiti and found some relief images from Egypt. The images are surprising because they show, Nefertiti along with a bunch of light rays and some variations of her cap crown (respectively a special form of the blue crown). The rays are not curved like on the Mars image but with the same orientation.
Is this a coincidence? If this is a natural phenomenon, then it's a very unusual. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find similar high-resolution pictures from this region (as usual?). I myself am still not sure how to classify this. But if it is artificial, then, it could be possible that there are more to anomalies of this kind in the immediate environment.
In relation to such phenomena, I have found very often the example of the so-called "Medicine Hat Head" (located in Alberta, Canada) as counter argument for artificiality. Nature can create amazing structures. But there are important differences between the Nefertiti Anomaly on Mars and the Medicine Hat Head formation

There is also an astonishingly correct placement of the eye, the nose and the mouth. But, the headdress makes no sense. The positioning of the ear is completely wrong (or is completely missing). But the decisive point here is the fact that the head does not stand out from its surroundings. The immediate environment also shows the same structures and is therefore to be regarded as a product of chance. If one wants, one can also interpret another head behind the one in the center of the image. The degree of naturalness prevails here the impression of artificiality.
Uncertainties still exist. No doubt it is unusual. But we always say in such cases, that an anomaly (a candidate for artificiality) seldom comes alone. Should this be so, then we would start immediately with a new report. But other anomalies have to be at least as detailed as the Nefertiti anomaly. Otherwise, the skeptics will rightly complain and point to the pareidolia effect.
I hope there will be someday new discoveries in this region. If are there some new infos about the Nefertiti anomaly, we are interested to know more about that.
