No doubt, there are serious trust issues.
As far as the overhead pictures, we do have a nice check - in that ESA and various NASA missions over time have produced images of the same areas. In the future other nations will take pics of Mars from overhead and this will serve as a nice check that information returns from orbit are relatively accurate. From the ground, there are few checks - only the match from the rocks on the ground and the orbital views of the same areas.

A fair and balanced insight Marsrocks, again .. thanks for the imput .. a luxury I seem to have sparse gleanings in. Communication and keeping the enthusiasm and learning level at a decent pace and interest .. makes the advancement of members a real joy to observe .. and the comaradrie gives a sense of belonging that is making sense of your life, direction, and being involved with a special group .. and place ( as you said ' make this place what you want it to be '. Have been looking at this puzzling Yogi ' phenomena ' and counterchecked some pics on this. It is strange to find two sets of picto-statements rolled into one. I have seen this numerous times before .. but can't exactly account for it .. yet. The attached are of PIA00622 .. a simple study that should bring this to light some, and perhaps pique the viewers interest to respond as well./-M *************************************************************** Attachments:

morbius, this is a very neat combination impression that you have spotted. What we perceive as the face in this one consists of rocks at a considerable distance, while the body is on top of the rock close to the camera. It is very interesting. See my detailed comments about combination impressions in this thread: marsanomalies.proboards.com/thread/380/fossil-artificial?page=1&scrollTo=2397Let me also add, that just because the impression is made up of a combination of spacially separated objects does not prove that it is not intentional art. What makes up intentional art depends entirely on the culture of the people who are intended to view it (something we don't know).
