Defending the Encampment This is a response to a comment and pic by Iceman at AA, which he simply annotated ' man wearing a coat?' I looked at this pic carefully and decided it was so, and so presented my findings and thoughts on this. Seeing it had become so perplexing, even as a minor issue, I decided to produce a detailed work-up to present what I felt was evidenced in this particular picture. There are three attachments, and each focus is on a specific scene site. These are found 1/at the left side .. which shows what I believe are seated women. 2. The central figure ' man wearing a coat ', and 3. a small group of people, two standing side by side, and a woman, waist-up, is in front of them. I have always produced serious works, and this one is no less so .. what you make of it is yours to decide .. and live with too. Cheers / -Morbius

Hello Marsrocks and thanks for the posting privilege here. My submission actually fills most of the screen and the original detail is much clearer. At AA they were reduced 75% and shoved into the top right corner with no explanation when asked about this. I had prepared this post but cannot do so now as I have been arbitrarily banned without a chance to explain or defend myself. Could you possibly post a link to this presentation at AA so that ALL members may have access to and allow a fair hearing to this topic and situation? -Morbis

Morbius,
Alien Anomalies is one of the best forums of this type that still exists out there, and I am highly supportive of it. Xenon and others have done quite a lot of work to build it up to where it is, and I would like to see it continue to succeed. Even if I disagree with a few of its policies, it is not my place to try to undermine those policies. I have to respect AA's rules just like everyone else who chooses to post there.
Over the years, I have been to a lot of forums, and I have seen some really good evidence posted by people around the internet, and I have seen pictures from Mars quickly deleted, and the member banned, simply because of the subject matter. One of the first members of this forum was treated this way, regardless of some really great evidence he had found. I have seen forum owners decide that posting an image of Mars was wrong, simply because the poster had the opinion that it may be evidence of something other than a rock. I visited one forum, where people were ridiculed for their finds if they failed to write and publish a peer-reviewed article before posting it on the forum.
I think it is terrific that in my lifetime, NASA has, (as far as I know - :) ) a freaking robot on Mars!!!! On Mars!!!!! Let's all loosen up, and take a look at what is on the ground, and have a little fun together!
I created this forum, so that anyone who wants the freedom to do so, has a place where they can come and freely post their finds and opinions.
My approach and Alien Anomalies' approaches are very different.
In my approach, I am willing to throw it all out there, and see if anything sticks. I think discussing things helps weed out the bad stuff, and gives us a chance to grow, and get better at what we do. I think of this forum as a repository of possibilities, where people are free to judge the qualities of every find for themselves. My idea is that by putting a lot of different things up, we can compare those things to determine which things have serious quality, and which do not. Having the bad stuff up, is a great way to measure what to post next; always striving to find better stuff than what we already have. I am not sticking my neck out, and announcing that anything here is definitely good evidence. I am more in the position of gathering data, and only assessing the evidence to a lesser extent for myself - and letting others do the same for themselves. I reserve the right to change my mind- and say something looks good one day, and then say, I was mistaken the next day - or vice versa. I wasn't born knowing everything, and I allow myself the right to learn from my mistakes. I realize that I often don't learn from my mistakes, but I do try.
I also feel free to put stuff up "half-baked" here. Really good analysis takes hours and hours, and it means searching through lots of images to try to find other views of your find. Sometimes it means making 3-D or "wiggle animations." I love the idea that somebody can post something here, and another member may see the potential in it, and pick up the analysis from there - showing it to be good or bad, or whatever. It is fun working together with other people. Sometimes I come back to something years later, after learning a new way to analyze something, and do some more work on an old find. It is amazing how many things we can show that we once thought were anomalous, but with more evidence, clearly are not anomalous.
On this forum, I am happy to see anyone who likes putting up the best rock with a face, or the best rectangular rock, or whatever else you can find that MIGHT be evidence. For me, this makes it easier to make qualitative comparisons.
I have noticed that the moment I find something, I get extremely excited about it, and then the next day, when I look at the same find, and I have had some time to mull it over, I think very little of it. Comparing what we find over time, and seeing what holds up for more than a day, is a very useful tool. Why shouldn't others be free to experience that with us, as we hunt for something amazing? For this same reason, I don't close posts, but I leave them open for people to add contributions, change their mind, or attach better or similar evidence. That's my approach, and I am free to do that here, because I made this forum, and the rules of the forum.
Alien Anomalies, on the other hand, feels that they are sticking their neck out there and vouching that everything that appears on their forum is good evidence. Along that line of reasoning, if Alien Anomalies allows finds to be posted there that they can't or don't vouch for, that destroys the credibility and reputation of Alien Anomalies. With that approach, they have to take a much more protective stance than I do, and members of that forum, should understand and respect that going in. It is a different place with good people who have different standards and different rules. They own the forum, and of course, they will make the rules that they think are best for what they are trying to accomplish.
On this forum, everyone has their own individual credibility and reputation. You can post what you like without worry about my reputation. I feel like if you post it in your name, (or with your anonymous handle) most people with any sense at all can tell that you said it, and not me. I am responsible for my own credibility and reputation, just as each individual who posts here is responsible for their own credibility and reputation.
I enjoy the silly, the crazy, and the far out, almost as much as I enjoy the stuff that I simply can't explain.
Alien Anomalies has different rules, because it has a different approach. When I am there, I abide by their rules, and am appreciative for the chance they give me.

Morbius, another thing you can do - once you have uploaded attachments, you can then pull them into the board as images viewable without clicking. Just take the image links after opening them in another window and paste them into the board. Then highlight each one, and click the "Image" button - then press "Insert Image."
