It makes no sense as a rock. I hope there are other views of that one so we can see some additional information on it.

I agree.. Yeah. It seems to be the only picture so far.

I can understand the perplexing problem of strange forms when observed in the context of a rock. A point that 'May' be missing could be the term volcanic. To be more precise volcanic lava bombs. I did 'for a few years' leap around at such formations but after updating my knowledge base with lava bombs and associated formations, anomaly hunting (for me) has gone to a whole new level of understanding. This was a hard step as I had to let go of what I thought I knew and observe from a more scientific basis. Earthly formations are 10 a penny. Just a thought. Heres an example. If you found this image (below) in a Mars surface image how many anomaly hunters would leap around and state this was an anomaly? Sometimes understanding geo-physical features, their causes and over all signature can aid in removing a few of our questionable finds. A rock at some stage in its creation was molten... fluid.... able to adopt settling shapes that defy the basic classic view of a rock. Thats not discounting the fact that there are many formations that defy understanding. Structure must be key. Context comes in a close second. Cheers. Interesting post TW Types of bombs Various volcanic bombs in the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo, Japan. Bombs are named according to their shape, which is determined by the fluidity of the magma from which they are formed. * Ribbon or cylindrical bombs form from highly to moderately fluid magma, ejected as irregular strings and blobs. The strings break up into small segments which fall to the ground intact and look like ribbons. Hence, the name "ribbon bombs". These bombs are circular or flattened in cross section, are fluted along their length, and have tabular vesicles. * Spherical bombs also form from high to moderately fluid magma. In the case of spherical bombs, surface tension plays a major role in pulling the ejecta into spheres. * Spindle, fusiform, or almond/rotational bombs are formed by the same processes as spherical bombs, though the major difference being the partial nature of the spherical shape. Spinning during flight leaves these bombs looking elongated or almond shaped; the spinning theory behind these bombs' development has also given them the name 'fusiform bombs'. Spindle bombs are characterised by longitudinal fluting, one side slightly smoother and broader than the other. This smooth side represents the underside of the bomb as it fell through the air. * Cow pie bombs are formed when highly fluid magma falls from moderate height; so the bombs do not solidify before impact (they are still liquid when they strike the ground). They consequently flatten or splash and form irregular roundish disks, which resemble cow-dung. * Bread-crust bombs are formed if the outside of the lava bombs solidifies during their flights. They may develop cracked outer surfaces as the interiors continue to expand. * Cored bombs are bombs that have rinds of lava enclosing a core of previously consolidated lava. The core consists of accessory fragments of an earlier eruption, accidental fragments of country rock or, in rare cases, bits of lava formed earlier during the same eruption.

If you had taken into account and bypassed the heavy obfuscation present in this pic, you could have easily seen what you are dealing with here ... this is mickey-mouse stuff really. Cheers / -Morbius

Marsrocks, I do not make idle claims or jest on post/replies. Neither do I take kindly to constant harassment and criticisms, but I feel I owe you an explanation and demonstrate an alternative view of this seemingly perplexing ' problem ' which, personally, is elementary and simple. Anyone may agree or disagree .. I don't really care either way . So will post this simple presentation on the AA boards in good will shortly. / -Morbius

Hey guys, I want this to be a place where everyone can express their own opinion, no matter what it is. None of us have a monopoly on the truth.
If all truth could be discerned by what is most rational to us, we would have no need of telescopes. We could simply reason out what the truth is with no need to peer into the distance.
Always feel free to express your views here, no matter what they are.
Personally, I enjoy reading the thoughts that help me get more grounded, as well as ones that help me think of the more 'out there' explanations.
I always want to err in favor of free expression, so that people know their thoughts do matter, and won't be deleted based on who agrees or disagrees.
If anyone wants to avoid debate, they should feel free to do that here as well - simply start your own thread - and state in the first post that the thread is only for your own thoughts and opinions.
But if not otherwise specified, all opinions are welcome in all threads.
Make this place what you want it to be.
:D

Have occasionaly looked at this pic, and tried to extrapolate or deduce just what the two soldiers ( one partially ' turned to rock '/ha) were carrying between them? Here's a colourized view .. mabee someone can make some sense or get a handle on the object's true form and meaning?/M ********************************************************** Attachments:

morbius, that is a really excellent example of a combination impression. You have another one in the other thread. I've got some of these up in other threads, like the rocks with faces thread. Here is one example that I found many years ago (a man's face that appears to be next to a snake head from Spirit sol 134. The snake's head seems to be holding a folded piece of paper in its mouth): marsanomalies.proboards.com/thread/3/rocks-faces?page=3Note, the 3D - wiggle shows us that the man's head is composed of multiple rocks and soil at a distance from the snake head rock. I hope you can see the man's face in the example I posted. (In the wiggle, it seems to be coming forward and going backward - depending on the position of the viewer). I have found several things like this which are really amazing in some ways, as I have seen impressions of geometric shapes completed by objects spaced apart from one another - or rock faces completed by the surrounding soil. What we are seeing are impressions made up of a combination of rocks and soil (or solid objects) that are spaced out from one another. Some of the objects are close to us - just a couple of meters away from the rover - and some of the objects that combine to make up the impression we see can be over a hundred meters away from us. Obviously, once we recognize the impression, the next question is much harder. Is it an intentional impression formed by others corporeal or spirit beings? - or is it purely a pattern that occurs first and only in our own minds? If it is the former, then we have to recognize that the people of Mars are using the exterior surface of the planet to create art - using the whole of the surface as their art canvas AND that either their art has survived a great length of time - or they are still alive and making the impressions, perhaps at night, when the solar radiation is at a minimum (or whimsical spirits are at work). This presents a lot of problems for this bizarre theory. For instance, where are the tracks of the people (if they are corporeal) who have created these impressions? In either event, it is worth studying - whether we are studying ourselves or others - or maybe, both.
