This other rock near the lower part, matches as a possible lid to the top part. Consider it as if we are seeing the inside of the top lid. This is not an exact match - the lid does appear to be a bit bigger (as it should, as it is closer to the camera). But take a look at the areas marked in yellow circles. There is an empty spot in the box exactly where there is a protrusion in the rock we are calling the inner lid. Perhaps they did fit together, and the upper part of the box exposes a hint of what was inside the box (while the lower half of the box still seems to retain its lid intact).
