If a rock that resembles a face is lacking in detail, we sometimes fill in those details with our minds. Some people call this "matrixing" - and consider anything matrixed as invalid. Of course I agree that a face lacking detail (detail only filled in by our minds) is poor evidence of an artificially-altered stone. On the other hand, we are looking at objects that may have been weathered, broken, or never finished. Here is an example of a statue face in Egypt that was never finished. Notice how we fill in the details with our minds in the exact same way: This doesn't make faces or other objects lacking in detail better evidence; but it does give something to think about - as this face (even if it were a lone stone on the ground) would not be rejected as a stone-carved face merely because it lacks detail. On Egyptian ground (a place with known artifacts), we would all be overjoyed in finding an object like this even though it has very few details to indicate that it had been altered. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Uh-hfOha2k
