Joseph Skipper has flipped it, so that it is presented like this in his latest article: I wonder if there is a left-brain right-brain thing going on, as some people may be able to see it and understand it better when it is flipped than when it is left in its actual orientation. This is a link to the Skipper report on Parrot City: www.marsanomalyresearch.com/evidence-reports/2009/167/parrotopia.htm

Skipper references this document in his study, which is authored by Wil Faust, George Haas, Jim Miller, William Saunders, and Keith Laney: www.m-a-r-s.ws/study3.docVery interesting reading! ;D

Here is a colorized rendering of the parrot formation using the recently released MOC S13-01480 image. Note, all of the parrot's features are still there…including the tail feathers. Zip Monster The Cydonia Institute

I think the coloration is a bit off in that the more natural formation of the tail feathers would trail off downward, not terminate so abruptly and in an upward fashion.
Follow the lines that are already provided downward and off the bottom of the image.
Also I looked at JP Skinners work and he suggests a bird of prey in a more deteriorated condition directly above the parrot. I think this warrants more investigation.
Look at the second image at the top of this thread, colorized by Marsrocks. The bright white area that is in line with the parrots head to the right in that image does take on the form of an eagle.

Some of the smaller features among the perpendicular complex of criss-crossing lines seem to fit an artificiality explanation better than a geologically based explanation. Take a look at the feature I've marked in blue below. I believe it to be an upright structure because it is throwing a shadow (to the left). A closer look at the front of it shows that this structure has smaller criss-crossing perpendicular lines on the wall facing us. It looks very much like a strongly structured building in ruins.

Birds from every perspective:

I think everyone has a slightly different perception of the main parrot feature. Some people see it as looking down at the back of the bird. I've always seen it as a bird standing up and walking toward us. That right foot is reaching from something further away, and about to take a step in our direction. The man is watching the bird.

looking at the nadir parrot city area image from HRSC (ESA), I found some items of interest. viewer.mars.asu.edu/planetview/inst/hrsc/H0416_0000_ND3#startThe parrot is the item colored in green below: Contrast adjusted on part of the area: This is a large bird/pyramid shape up on the hill above the parrot (marked in red in the first image): To the left of that huge bird-pyramid, there is an interesting glyph, marked in this picture: It looks like a man in a seated posture: This is another large bird shape, shown in the first image above in blue in the lower left corner of the scene: There are a number of other bird shapes in this area:

Same area: Crater with odd pattern: Mound formation: Parrot City itself is in the shape of a stag as viewed from this angle and at this distance:

So, our parrot is a bird on a stag. The image of a stag would be an inviting image to a bird who would be looking for a meal of bugs on the stag.
