Thanks the tiler. I am convinced NASA will not announce finding anything anomalous again (after what happened with the Cydonia face announcement in 1976, and then the nano bacteria they found on ALH 84001 in 1996). So, anything on Mars that is anomalous will have to be found and shown to the public by us regular folks. At least until maybe, 2016 (20 years after the alh84001 announcement).

I have to share MR's opinion. Unfortunately we come more and more into the realm of the evidence-dilemma. NASA (of course only the appropriate decision-makers are meant - not the whole institution) can claim to have mapped the entire Mars. Apparently nothing to see. Evidence supplied. People who are claiming something different are just conspiracy theorists. Case closed.
The truth, however, lies hidden in the images at low resolution. Even very large structures can be lost in a nondescript mush by using low resolution (plus lossy compression, lack of contrast, ...). One can use a broad range of very subtle means.
The HiRISE camera for example could deliver images that leaves no questions open. But exactly the areas which are of interest for us are omitted. They can play this little game mathematically over decades. Though the probe (MRO) will not work so long to map the complete Mars in highest resolution. It is really up to us to find the clues that were overlooked.
It should not remain uncommented that such secrecy is a very big mistake. It is often argued with National Security. A protective claim. Because behind it are often lower motives. Courageous and idealistic people are needed to break this vicious circle. No matter whether it be politicians or military or the guy/girl next door.

I find this interesting, not a skull but what looks like a picture of one carved into a rock. Attachments:

Another possible spine shape - a youtube viewer called my attention to this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGb42I22clk"UFO Hunting Clouds" describes the find as follows in his youtube video: " Published on Feb 19, 2013 Fossilized Spine found in a Mars Curiosity Photo from SOL 109. This photo which has been circling the Mars Curiosity forums shows what appears to be a fossilized spine sticking out of the ground. This is a great find because what else would you find in an ancient lake bed? We find fossils all the time in ancient dried up lakes so why not on Mars?"

"Arken" put this up on ATS yesterday: Paleontologists need on Gale Crater. Seem that the Rover Curiosity litterally "walk" among an huge "carpet of bones". These astounding images cropped by Sol 107, 108, 109 and 141, confirm my weird and worst thoughts. What lies on the bed of this ancient martian lake are nothing more than "fossilized bones" (spines and vertebrae) of some sort of carcasses of big creatures that, times ago, swam in that lake. mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl-raw-images/msss/00109/mcam/0109MR0684021000E1_DXXX.jpgClick this link to see the other images he posted, and the discussion there: www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread927601/pg1

Hi Marsrocks, this is highly interesting. Do you know who found this spine-like anomaly? Just in case. Then it is good to know the name, or at least the nickname, if it is to be used in a report. These structures actually seemed to follow a certain symmetry. Good preconditions for further analysis.

It appears that "Arken" discovered this one at Curiosity 109: And "fsbirdhouse" discovered this one at Curiosity sol 77:
